Mornington’s Main Street has no shortage of places to eat. But if you’re after a long, lazy brunch with good coffee, a menu that goes well beyond eggs on toast and somewhere the dog is welcome too, pull up a chair at 39A Main Street.

This is where The Winey Cow started back in 2014. Since then we’ve been named Café of the Year and Best Breakfast Restaurant for Victoria and Tasmania. We’re still the same family-owned café that loves a busy Saturday morning.

Brunch on the Mornington Peninsula, done our way

The Peninsula does relaxed better than anywhere. Locals pop in after a walk along the foreshore. Day-trippers stop on their way to the wineries. Weekenders turn breakfast into a three-course event.

We built our menu for all of them. It runs all day, so whether you’re up early or rolling in late, the full brunch menu is waiting.

What to order

If it’s your first visit, start here.

  • Chicken & Waffle. House-made waffle, crispy fried chicken, buffalo maple syrup, smoked honey butter and thick-cut bacon. Our most talked-about dish, for good reason.
  • Spiced Turkish Eggs. Poached eggs on spiced garlic yoghurt with roasted pumpkin, chilli oil and toasted sourdough. Warming, punchy and perfect for a cold Peninsula morning.
  • Brunch Stack. Streaky bacon, avocado purée, halloumi, potato rosti and poached eggs, finished with hollandaise. Everything you want in a big brunch, stacked high.

Something for every diet

We mark our menu for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free and sesame-free options. Let our team know about any dietary needs when you order and they’ll steer you in the right direction.
