You’ve had a swim, the dog’s had a run on the sand, and now everyone’s starving. Good news. The Winey Cow sits on Woodroffe Avenue, a two-minute walk from Main Beach, and our whole day revolves around brunch.
We started on the Mornington Peninsula in 2014 and brought our all-day brunch menu to the Gold Coast in 2023. Here’s what to order, what to sip and how to make a proper morning of it.
Why Main Beach is made for brunch
Main Beach has the beach, the café culture and a slower pace than Surfers Paradise just up the road. Tedder Avenue is around the corner for a wander after you eat. The sand is close enough to head straight back for round two.
It’s the kind of spot where a quick coffee turns into a three-hour brunch. We’re very okay with that.
What to order for brunch in Main Beach
Our menu runs all day, so there’s no racing to beat a breakfast cut-off. These are the dishes our regulars keep coming back for.
- Chicken Waffle. House-made waffle, fried chicken, buffalo maple, whipped smoked honey butter and charred corn. Sweet, salty and crunchy. You’ll spot it on every second table.
- Sea Benny. Blackberry cured Tasmanian salmon, sea plants and poached eggs on a brown butter crumpet with hollandaise. A benny that suits the postcode.
- Winey Big Brekkie. BBQ glazed brisket, hand-cut bacon, sliced avocado and potato rosti. Built for the post-surf appetite.
- Strawberry Rose French Toast. Charcoal brioche, pistachio rose crème, fresh strawberries and white chocolate crackle. It looks great on camera and tastes even better.
- Superfood Bowl. Brown rice, avocado, roasted sweet potato, edamame and charred broccoli. Fully vegan and properly filling.

Bottomless mimosas in Main Beach
Celebrating something? Or is it just Saturday? Our [Boozy Brunch] runs seven days a week from 10am.
- Classic ($55pp): one hour of bottomless mimosas plus a main
- Premium ($75pp): full mimosa bar access plus a main
Choose from Classic, Cranberry & Lime or Pineapple Passionfruit & Lime. Birthdays, hens, catch-ups with the girls. It’s our favourite kind of chaos, so book ahead on weekends.
Not drinking? Our non-alcoholic mimosas (Orange Zest, Ruby Kiss and Pineapple Fizz) mean nobody misses the cheers.
Brunch with the kids and the dog
Bring the whole crew. The kids menu has Dino Nuggets, waffles, fish fingers and cheeseburgers, so the little ones are sorted.
And the dog? They get their own Doggo Menu. Puppuccinos, chicken pops, kangaroo ribs and beef bully sticks. Don’t be surprised if they drag you back next weekend.
Coffee worth the walk
We pour Paradox Coffee, roasted right here on the Gold Coast. Expect great flat whites and long blacks, plus a signature cold foam range that’s become a bit of a cult favourite.
